Aren't new starts fun?
This is my first of 25 blocks from the Beyond the Cherry Tree BOM.
My fellow Cherry Tree friends from here started without me, I dawdled about finding the "right" background/s, but after spending some time on Sunday morning preparing several background squares, I succumbed to temptation and started on this fellow.

I love your fabric choices! Michele
It is so fun to see fabrics that I know are in my own stash in other quitler's blocks. Makes me want to go and use them myself! BTW...really nice block!
Beautiful block!
I would love to make this quilt too!
I really love the red fabric in the lower right hand corner!
Kate,
Your block looks beautiful. I love your choice of Turkey reds.. and the fact that you chose four different fabrics for the block!
And welcome. Great start, Kate. Perfect applique and nice choice of both background and other fabrics.
Hi Leo!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your lovely comment on my little block. I try to reply to everyone's comments and I wanted to pay you a return visit, but your profile is set to private, and your email is a "no-reply". So, thank you, and I hope to have an oppportunity to visit your blog soon. K
Hi - great new project - looking forward to watching your progress.
I want to do that quilt too. I think I might go for a natural muslin background and traditional colours - but I won't be starting for a veeery long time. I will enjoy watching yours though.
I love the colours you're going with. This quilt is on my ever growing list. I'd love to know the background, it could be a good one for the Morrell quilt.
Oh Kate, it's fabulous! I LOVE the colors! And the fabrics! I could go on and on! I wish I was more adventurous with fabrics, and could maybe come up with something as wonderful as this.
