Kaffe, log cabins and a thank you!

Friday was a fantastically stunning Spring day here in Sydney - blue skies, no wind, with the fragrance of Spring flowers heavy in the warm air.  I adore Fridays because it's a no office, sleep in a little later than the usual 6.15am and do as I will day...On Friday my house is crispy spring clean (thankyou to my new  fabuloso cleaner) my windows sparkle (thankyou Wally the wonderful window cleaning man) and so, with my house in order, my mind clear of work stresses, I felt I could finally put to bed some long overdue projects.

My Bee Balm friends have been super patient. First up, I tackled Viv's lovely Kaffe blocks.

Viv supplied most of the Kaffe strips, I added a few from my stash to get the second block complete, they measure a smidge over 13".  Very much looking forward to seeing this put together, the colours are stunning. They will be off to the Yukon Territories on Monday.
Secondly, Lizzie's log cabins in aqua, red, yellow and grey - nice colour combo Lizzie, narrow little logs to make up to 12.5" blocks.  These went together pretty quickly until the Rugby started Friday evening ...then I became a little distracted cheering the Aussies on to win over Wales to secure the bronze in the World Cup. Never-the-less the blocks are now done and ready to be sent to Sue in WA who is putting the blocks together for Lizzie.

Spent a good part of Saturday sewing with friends - FORGOT THE CAMERA (I'm an idiot), sorry!!! next month perhaps.

Lastly , THANKYOU to all my blogging friends for your votes. I'm totally amazed at your response...see last post, if you have no clue what I'm talking about. Its all for fun - the other entries are awesome - so we'll see.

But thank you, thank you  thank you for your encouraging words!

Great blocks, voted again from home. The top four are fabulous, but I do lean to the ones done by hand.

I voted for you and you were doing very well at that stage.
I love the glow of the Kaffe blocks and the colour combo of Lizzies too. Glad you had a great time sewing with friends, I'm sure someone will have photos, maybe Jean?

I did vote for your quilt, Mad Birds and Hexagons, the other day. Today I revisited your blog and had the loveliest laugh I'd had all week when I read your post, For a Laugh, with the redefined words from the Washington Post. I even took the list to my Mother who isn't as easily amused as I am and it did me good to see her really laugh out loud, Thankyou!
