framed!

"the exemplar" reproduction sampler
32" x 7.5"
DMC threads on 25 count linen
commenced c1992, completed 2012 (slow huh!)

I'm very happy with the result - a long time was spent auditioning possibilities before settling on the combination of the slightly rubbed back timber frame and double mount which compliment the colours of the thread and linen, it also had to tie in with other quite modern artworks hanging in my house.

Finished!
:o)

This looks lovely. How thrilling to have it completed.

Your sampler is lovely, and I like your framing choices. Did you frame it yourself? And, I'm excited to find someone else who stitches at the same speed than I do (well, you are quicker still.) But now you've reminded me that I have an almost finished one (began in the early 1990's also) that I should find and finish too! Wonder where it is! And wonder what else there is that I've forgotten! :)

Gorgeous finish and framing! I love that frame you picked - it's perfect for the piece, I think. Congratulations on a long, but well worth the effort, finish!

What a beauty! Congratilations on your finish. I honestly admire the time lapse between your start and completion!

Fabulous - I know how many stitches you did...
I love that you are mixing it with modern art pieces.
