quilting "the beast"

Today I collected my JP interpretation from Kaye Brown in Camden who wrangled the beast and machine basted it into submission.

I chose a wide back of cream cotton sateen and quilters dream batting.

Tonight the hand quilting commences... 96" x 96" to quilt and bind by the first week of June. Woo Hoo don't you just LOVE an insane deadline?

Have a wonderful quilty weekend. My left index finger hurts already!

Pace yourself and take care of your fingers--that is quite a lot of quilting to do!!! It is amazing how much you can get done if you target a goal and keep up with it. Good Luck

I think you are going to be VERY busy over the next couple of months. That's a big quilt but the hand quilting will certainly do it justice, good luck!

Found you by way of Thimblestitch - what a mind boggling goal to have your hand quilting done by June!! I am also quilting the Beyond the Cherry Tree quilt and am overwhelmed with a possible September deadline(?).

Enjoyed looking around your very pretty blog and discovered you are doing the Drayton Hall quilt by Di Ford. It is on my way too long list of things wanting to accomplish. And awaiting her new book later this spring. We are surrounded by constant inspiration aren't we!

Here comes a big cheer from the sideline!! Be sure to post pictures when you catch your breath again. It is such a beauty! Take care (also of your index finger - Elisabeth Arden's 8 Hour cream works wonders for sore skin - just a tip )
